Build a partner or team updates page

Put a partner’s public posts beside your team’s notes. Readers can see what is new and open the account from the same page.

Why use this pattern?

Your team keeps a page about a partner. The partner shares its news on X. Screenshots of those posts go out of date.

An Embedded Timeline can show the partner’s public posts beside your notes. Readers can open each post on X. New posts show up only when a refresh works.

Live example

Below is a sample partner page. A team that sells apps for Jira and Confluence made it to keep up with Atlassian news. The team wrote the text. The timeline and the Follow Button come from X Connector. Both work on this page.

Atlassian: partner page

About this partner

Our apps run on Jira and Confluence. When Atlassian changes a product, we may need to change our plans. We read their news before each planning meeting.

Latest from Atlassian on X

The latest public posts from @Atlassian. They are refreshed on the schedule your admin sets.

Follow this partner on X

Get Atlassian’s posts in your own X feed too.

Who to ask

  • Partner manager: questions about the partnership.

  • Product lead: how an Atlassian change affects our apps.

Try it: click Follow @Atlassian. Confluence asks first. Then X opens in a new tab, and you follow the account from your own X account.

Before you start

  • You can edit the page. You have the partner’s public X profile URL or @username.

  • Ask your admin to connect the X API key and check credits.

Build the page

  1. Create a partner page. Write a short note about why your team follows this account.

  2. Follow Embed a profile timeline using the account’s profile URL or @username.

  3. Try 10 for Max posts to show and 400 px for Widget height. These settings are just an example. Check that they fit your page.

  4. Follow Add a Follow Button using the same account. Add “Follow this partner on X” above it.

  5. Ask your admin how often to load new posts, then publish or update a regular page.

Check before sharing

Check that the timeline and Follow Button use the same account. New posts come in at a set time. Your admin picks the time. Then the page shows them.
