Put the event plan, X stream and a link to join in on one page. Readers can find what to watch and how to join in.
Why use this pattern?
Your event streams on X. The plan and how to join are on a Confluence page.
Readers can watch the stream on that same page, live or later. The Hashtag Button opens a new post on X with your hashtag in it.
Live example
Below is a sample event page. Imagine a team made it for a watch party of the Ax-4 launch. The team wrote the text. The broadcast and the Hashtag Button come from X Connector. Both are live.

Useful links
Join the conversation on X
Join the event on X. The button opens a new post with #Ax4 and the mission link. Write the rest and post it from your own X account.
Try it: select Post #Ax4. X opens in a new tab, with a new post that already holds #Ax4 and the mission link. You post it from your own X account.
Before you start
-
You can edit the page.
-
You have an X broadcast URL and an event hashtag.
-
You do not need an X API key for these items.
Build the page
-
Create an event page. Add the date, time zone, plan and event links.
-
Follow Embed a broadcast using the event’s
/i/broadcasts/URL. -
Follow Add a Hashtag Button. Enter the event hashtag in Item to share.
-
If useful, add event text in Prefilled post text. Put an event link in Add specific URL.
-
Write “Join the event on X” above the button. Then publish or update a regular page.
Check before sharing
Before the event, check that the stream plays. Choose the Hashtag Button. Check the new post on X. The button does not collect posts from other people. A recording can play only while X still provides it.
