Administration

For: Confluence admins.

Set up the app so your team can add X content to pages. Connect an X API key if needed. Choose how often posts refresh and what your team can spend.

Set up your site

  1. Install X Connector for Confluence through Manage apps or its Atlassian Marketplace listing. Check what access it needs and what Atlassian will charge.

  2. Ask an editor to test an Embedded Post. Check that they can add a public post without an X API key.

  3. For profile or List timelines, follow Connect your X API key. Your team sets up X access and pays X for credits.

  4. Read Usage costs. Then choose how long to keep saved posts. Start with the default 24-hour cache. Use a shorter time if your team needs newer posts more often.

No

Readers who are not logged in see only pages Confluence lets them open. For a public page, turn on anonymous access in Confluence for the site and the space. The app has no setting for this. The Free plan does not have it.

If the app subscription is inactive, logged-in readers see a note about it. So do guests. Readers who are not logged in do not.

Every X embed turns on X's do-not-track flag. X still gets a request when an embed loads. The flag does not block cookies. It does not make a page meet privacy law.

Maintain the connection

If a timeline stops loading, check the saved key status and credit balance. If X does not say how many credits are left, the balance is unknown. See Fix a problem for key errors, blocked access, request limits and credits that have run out.

Read Release notes when you update the app. X can change its prices or stop serving content even if the app stays the same.
