Put an X video beside the steps it shows. Readers can watch the example and try the steps on the same page.
Why use this pattern?
You teach a task on a Confluence page. The best demo is a video on X.
Put the video above your steps. Readers can play it on the page, then follow the steps below.
Live example
Below is a sample training page. Imagine an engineering team made it to show developers how to hand a Jira task to Rovo Dev. The team wrote the text. The video comes from X Connector and plays on this page.
Hand a Jira task to Rovo Dev
Goal
Learn how to give a coding task to Rovo Dev and review what it sends back.
Watch
Atlassian’s short demo shows the whole flow.
Try it
-
Pick a small Jira task with a clear description.
-
Assign the task to Rovo Dev.
-
Wait for Rovo Dev to open a pull request.
-
Review the code and the test results.
Check your work
The task links to a pull request. Review it like any other change before you merge it.
Before you start
-
You can edit this page.
-
You have a public X post URL with the video.
-
No X API key is needed.
Build the page
-
Create a page for the task. Write what readers will learn.
-
Follow Embed a video. Paste the post URL into Item to share and choose Embedded Video.
-
Start with Full width on. Play the preview. Check that X shows the right video.
-
Add “Try it” with numbered steps readers can follow after watching. Add “Check your work” with the result they should see.
-
Keep the key steps in text too. Then publish or update a regular page.
Check before sharing
View the page as a reader. Check that the video plays. If X cannot show a player, it may show the post instead. Readers should still be able to follow the text if the video is removed or made private.
