Put the public launch post and your team’s plan on one page. Readers can see what changed and what to do next.
Why use this pattern?
Your launch goes out on X. Your team works from a launch plan in Confluence.
Put the post on the plan page. The team can see the post as it went out, next to the plan. The Share Button opens a new post on X with the link. Each reader decides whether to post it.
Live example
Below is a sample launch page. Imagine Atlassian’s product team made it for the Rovo Dev launch. The team wrote the text. The post and the Share Button come from X Connector. Both are live.
Rovo Dev launch: team page
What changed
Jira is now where developers and AI agents work together. Rovo Dev picks up a task, writes the code, runs the tests and opens a pull request. Launch owner: Product Marketing.
Original announcement
The post as it went out on X.
What to do next
Who does what now that the post is out:
-
Support: get answers ready for questions about Rovo Dev.
-
Sales: tell Jira customers what changed this week.
-
Everyone: share the post from your own X account. Use the button below.
The button opens X in a new tab. The new post holds our text. Check it, then post it from your own X account.
Try it: select Post. X opens in a new tab. The new post holds our text and the link. You post it from your own X account.
Before you start
-
You can edit the page.
-
You have the public X URL of the launch post.
-
You do not need an X API key for these items.
Build the page
-
Create a page for the launch. Write the key points and name who is in charge.
-
Follow Embed a post. Enter the launch post’s X URL in Item to share.
-
Keep Show media on if the image or video helps explain the launch.
-
Follow Add a Share Button using the same X URL. Add a short summary in Prefilled post text.
-
Add the internal checklist, then publish or update a regular page.
Check before sharing
Check that the page shows the right launch post. Select Share and check the link in the new post. Readers review and post on X. The button does not post for them.
