You can show posts, videos and broadcasts without a site X API key. Most buttons also work without it. A profile or List timeline may try X's public embed instead. That embed can show few posts or none.

Example
A public post can load while a timeline for the same account stays empty. X loads the two types in different ways. With a working API key, the app can fetch public posts for a timeline. The key cannot make private posts public or bring back posts that were removed.
What to do
For timelines, ask your admin to follow Connect your X API key. If you need just one post, use Embedded Post. For an error, open Fix a problem.
