Edit, switch type and align X content

For: Page editors.

Change the source, type or look of a saved embed. You can keep the same macro on your page.

Open the editor

  1. On a regular page, choose Edit. On a live page, work in the page itself.

  2. Point to the embed or use the keyboard to focus it. If you can edit it, a toolbar shows inside its frame.

  3. Choose Edit. Change Item to share, choose a type that fits it or change the settings.

  4. Check the preview and choose Save.

  5. On a regular page, publish or update it when you finish.

To show a profile’s posts, change its Follow Button to Embedded Timeline. To focus on a post’s video, change Embedded Post to Embedded Video.

Greyed-out types do not fit your source. Each type keeps its settings when you switch to a new type. Timeline and List share the settings that change their look.

Change alignment on the page

  1. Hover over the embed while editing the page.

  2. Choose Left, Center or Right in the toolbar inside its frame.

  3. Check the result. The content moves within the space given to the macro.

You can see the change best when the content does not fill its frame. For a timeline, video or broadcast with Full width on, choose Edit first. Turn Full width off and set a width. The page and its columns still set how much space you can use.

Check the result

View the page as a reader. Check that it shows the right source and type. Check that its position fits the page.

If you just moved the content left or right, check it inside the frame. Content that fills that space may not move.

If Edit does not appear

Check that you can edit the page and have it open for editing. Readers do not see that toolbar. If the editor opens but Save is greyed out, see Why is Insert or Save unavailable?.
